Welcome

As we say above, this is mainly for friends and family. Michael's blog on the Middle East can be found here. Most of our other links can be found below on the right, but be sure to keep up as well with our family website, here. We also have discussion groups for genealogy, links to genealogical information on us, and our (semi-private) Flickr and YouTube accounts for those who are invited. You can also get a quick-navigation guide here.

First Sleepover

Last night Sarah hosted her first-ever sleepover, with her friend Catherine from across the street. She was bouncing off the wall with excitement beforehand, but astonishingly, they both behaved very well. Though they didn't get to sleep till well after midnight, otherwise everything went smoothly and well. They spent most of their time in a "clubhouse" assembled from a big appliance box, a tent, and some blankets in our living room. Instead of watching DVDs on the big TV in the family room, they used the portable DVD player we have for long car trips (only a seven inch screen!) and watched inside the clubhouse. Hamburgers for everybody for dinner. Breakfast together, with strawberry smoothies made by Tam in the blender, before Catherine went home.

Far less giggling than I had feared. Both parents had emphasized that good behavior was essential to any future repetitions, and good behavior was delivered.
